I am a physicist who has specialized in general relativity and cosmology, although  I am interested more broadly in fundamental questions.   I have taught at Princeton and Harvard Universities, among other places, and in June 2019 retired from the faculty of NYU's Tandon School of Engineering.

I have also written thirteen books for the general public, both fiction and nonfiction, as well as hundreds of articles.  Check out some of them on the slideshows under the books and articles pages.
